"there's no such thing as a journalist blogger"

Today's a new beginning for me. I've just sat down at this computer and realised I'm not an intern anymore. Life in the big bad world has just smacked me in the face...

What a past year I've had. Looking back I've just realised what a bubble I was in while working in my church. Don't get me wrong, to a certain extent it's prepared me alot for what's to come in the next lot of years but it's a totally different story when it's actually happening.

I always knew I'd never really appreciate and be grateful for what was invested in me this year doing internship. Now I can totally see it.

So summer is gone and the academic school year has begun. Today I started my part-time course in Journalism. Next week I move to Belfast to take up rent in a lovely student house on the Lisburn Road. I always knew I'd move out this year but when I signed the contract today I couldn't help but get butterflies in my stomach with the thought of moving away from home. Boy i'll miss my brothers. I sound like I've moved across the water.... It's exciting.

So here's to a year or two in Belfast. I'll miss you Lurgan.
